e-Government – Portal Project
Background
In 2000 the Kuwaiti Government established a National Committee called The Central Technical Body (CTB) to supervise the establishment of its e-government project. The first task was to set up a web presence and build an e-government portal that would initially be an informative website, before evolving into a multi-faceted Portal.
The Challenge
FAPCOTECH won the tender, issued to certified vendors, for a project which consisted of:-
- Portal development
- Content management
- Application development
- Data input
- Maintenance for a period of one year
- Supply of hardware.
The Solution
FAPCOTECH developed a state-of-the-art content management tool and Portal using .NET technology. The Portal has standardized modules ranging from the HTML editor to video, weather and library modules and also offers an easy-to-use interface. The e-Government Portal was successfully launched in October 2003, offering a complete repertoire of services and information.
